About 11,000 businesses and other employers insured by the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC) could lose their share of the statewide $1.2 billion premium credit in the pending switch to prospective billing if they don't bring their accounts current by July 1.

The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC) Board of Directors on April 23, 2014 approved $2.2 billion in employer credits to help with the proposed switch from retrospective to prospective billing.

After being proposed by Gov. Kasich, the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Board of Directors has now approved a nearly $1 billion rebate to employers in Ohio who were part of the state fund workers’ compensation coverage from July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012.
